Sarapiqui river boat to see wild animals

Sarapiquí Rainforest, Riverboat & Canopy Tour

See the rainforest from river, trail and canopy

Travel through the Braulio Carrillo highlands to Sarapiquí for a full day combining three different rainforest perspectives. Look for wildlife from a riverboat, walk private forest trails with a guide, and finish with your choice of a gentle aerial tram or a more active zipline circuit.

Sarapiquí River and Selva Verde

The boat ride offers a quiet way to observe the riverbanks. Monkeys, iguanas, crocodilians and tropical birds live in the region, but sightings depend on season, weather and animal movement and are never guaranteed.

Continue on foot along Selva Verde's private trails with a guide who can explain the lowland rainforest ecosystem. Expect humidity, insects, mud and rain at any time of year.

Choose your canopy experience

After lunch, select one of two options when reserving:

  • Aerial tram: a slower gondola ride suited to travelers who prefer nature observation without ziplining.
  • Canopy zipline: seven cables and eleven platforms for guests who meet the operator's current safety requirements.

Closed-toe shoes are mandatory. The zipline requires greater mobility and comfort with heights; confirm all age, size and medical restrictions before booking.

The tram option requires less active participation than the zipline, but the guided trail still involves natural, potentially wet and uneven surfaces.
