Arenal and hot springs in one long day
Northern Costa Rica's farms and mountain scenery lead to Sarchí, lunch in the Arenal region and an afternoon at a confirmed hot-springs resort before dinner and the drive back.
What you will see
The route passes farms and mountain scenery on the way to La Fortuna. A stop in Sarchí introduces Costa Rica's painted oxcart tradition and local crafts. Around Arenal, views of the volcano depend on clouds and rain. This itinerary does not include entrance to Arenal Volcano National Park or a volcano hike.
Hot-springs time
Baldi is the default hot-springs resort. Los Lagos may be substituted for a particular departure. The assigned resort and its date-specific inclusions are provided before booking. Pools, facilities, towel service and locker arrangements may differ. Spa treatments cost extra.
This is a long day with several hours on the road and a late return. Families should consider whether children will be comfortable with that schedule. Guests with mobility, heat, blood-pressure or pregnancy concerns should seek appropriate advice before using thermal pools.
