Coffee culture and an active volcano
Start in the coffee-growing highlands of Alajuela with breakfast and a guided visit at Hacienda Doka, then continue uphill to Poás Volcano National Park. This half-day Costa Rica tour combines two defining Central Valley landscapes without committing to a full day away from the hotel.
Hacienda Doka
Learn how coffee moves from cultivation and harvesting through processing, roasting and the finished cup. What you see varies with the agricultural season, so active harvesting cannot be guaranteed throughout the year.
Poás Volcano
Poás is active and access is controlled by park authorities. The visit focuses on the areas open on the day, normally including the main-crater viewpoint when conditions permit. Clouds and mist are common, and a clear crater view cannot be guaranteed.
Walking is generally limited, but the park is at high altitude. Ask before booking if altitude, volcanic gases or walking inclines may affect you.
